What you charge and how often you charge it

A tracking business is not held up by selling the device: it is held up by the monthly fee. Whoever only charges for installation has to go out and sell all over again every month. This guide explains the model that compounds.

The two ways of charging, and what each is for

The upfront charge

Covers the device and the installation. It gives you back what you put in; it is not the profit.

The monthly fee

Covers the platform, the SIM and your support. It is what makes the business worth something.

Charging in advance

A year paid up front, at a discount, fixes cash flow and cuts arrears.

What happens if they do not pay

The service is suspended, not deleted. When the client settles up, it comes back with its history.

Why active matters

You are billed for what is running. A suspended vehicle costs you nothing that month.

Put it in writing

What the monthly fee covers, what it does not, and what happens if the device breaks. It avoids the argument in month six.

Said the way you say it to your client

Exact words you can use on the visit. No jargon.

«There are two things: installation is paid once, and the service is paid every month while the car is active.»
«If you suspend a vehicle, you do not pay for it that month. When you reactivate it, it comes back with its history.»

Questions they will ask you

You resell under your own brand. This is who it works for, and with what argument.

«Is the app charged separately?»

No. It is included, and it carries your brand.

«What if I sell the car?»

You suspend that one and move the device to the new one. The account continues.

«Is the data mine?»

Yes. And the history stays: that is what serves a police report or an insurance claim.

«Do I get a discount for several?»

Yes. The price per vehicle falls with quantity.
