Pricing · Your margin

The sum you should do before signing anything

A reseller isn't buying a platform: they are buying a business. And a business is judged with numbers, not features. These are the sums to do.

The difference
your monthly margin

The sums that matter

Your margin per vehicle

What you charge your client minus what you pay us.

Your monthly revenue

Margin per vehicle multiplied by your active vehicles.

The cost of the device

You buy the hardware and charge the client, upfront or financed.

How long to break even

How many months to recover what you invested per vehicle.

What each service adds

Every additional app is new margin on the same client.

Your break-even point

How many vehicles you need for the business to stand on its own.

Said the way you say it to your client

Exact words you can use on the visit. No jargon.

“Let's do the sums together: what you plan to charge, what you pay, and how many vehicles you think you'll have in a year.”
“And don't forget the apps: that's where the margin most people leave on the table is.”

The most common mistakes when calculating

You resell under your own brand. This is who it works for, and with what argument.

Forgetting the hardware cost

The device and the installation are part of the investment too.

Not allowing for late payers

There are always clients who pay late. Plan for it.

Charging only for tracking

The most expensive mistake: everything else goes uninvoiced.

Not counting your own time

Supporting the end client costs something too.

Frequently asked questions

How do I work out what I keep per vehicle?

By subtracting from your selling price the platform cost, the data line and the proportional share of the device and the installation. The calculator does that sum with your numbers.

What margin is reasonable?

It depends on the market and on the service you give. What should not be left out of the sum is the cost of support, which appears on no invoice and weighs most as you grow.

How long until I recover the device?

The up-front charge usually covers it. If you give it away to close the sale, you recover it through the monthly fees, and there the number that matters is how many months that client stays.
