The Coban TK102 protocol

The protocol of Coban's TK102 family — TK102, TK102B, TK102-2 — the <strong>portable</strong> line: small battery units meant to be carried or stuck on, not wired into a vehicle.

It is configured by text message. Being battery-powered, the reporting rate decides how long it lasts, as with any portable device.

Which port it comes in onOur server listens for the Coban TK102 protocol on port 6036. That is the port you set on the device, together with the server address. Point it somewhere else and the data still leaves, but the server cannot read it.
Careful with what other sites tell youIt is Coban's third protocol family, alongside GPS103 and TK103, and <strong>the three names get confused constantly</strong>. Before registering a batch, confirm which one each device speaks: the TK102 is the portable, not the vehicle unit.
