The Coban TK103 protocol

The protocol of Coban's TK103 family — TK103, TK103A, TK103B and TK104 — among the most copied trackers in the sector's history.

It is configured by text message with plain-text commands, which lets you see in the log what the device is actually sending, unlike binary protocols.

Which port it comes in onOur server listens for the Coban TK103 protocol on port 6002. That is the port you set on the device, together with the server address. Point it somewhere else and the data still leaves, but the server cannot read it.
Careful with what other sites tell you<strong>Don't confuse it with GPS103, another family from the same brand.</strong> The names look alike and people use them interchangeably, but when registering the device you must pick the right one or it won't report. If you have the IMEI, the IMEI tool tells you which.

Are TK103 and GPS103 the same protocol?

No. They are two different families from the same brand, and the names get confused constantly. When registering you must pick the right one or the device won't report.

How do I know which mine speaks?

From the IMEI: type it into the tool and we tell you the exact family. The name on the box cannot tell you for sure.

I have TK103s installed for years — do they still work?

The protocol does. What needs checking is the network: most are from the 2G era, and that network is being switched off country by country.
