The Jointech protocol

The protocol of Jointech devices, from Shenzhen Joint Technology. Its distinctive feature is <strong>electronic GPS padlocks and seals</strong> for containers and vans, alongside trackers.

It is spoken by the JT600, JT701 and JT707A. Besides position it reports the padlock's state: whether it was opened, when, and at what point of the journey.

Which port it comes in onOur server listens for the Jointech protocol on port 6014. That is the port you set on the device, together with the server address. Point it somewhere else and the data still leaves, but the server cannot read it.
Careful with what other sites tell youThe padlock is opened and closed, and that means an <strong>operating procedure</strong> that has to be agreed with the customer. If nobody defines who authorises the opening, the device records the fact but prevents nothing.
