The Suntech protocol

The protocol of Suntech devices, from Brazil. Very common in South America, especially in fleet and cargo tracking.

It sends text over mobile data and supports remote configuration as well as SMS.

Which port it comes in onOur server listens for the Suntech protocol on port 6011. That is the port you set on the device, together with the server address. Point it somewhere else and the data still leaves, but the server cannot read it.
Careful with what other sites tell youBeing a regional manufacturer, support and spare parts are easier to get in South America than with a Chinese brand with no local presence.

Which devices speak the Suntech protocol?

Those from ST SUNLAB, a South Korean manufacturer with a strong presence in Brazil and the Southern Cone. That is why, in that region, it is a protocol any installer recognises.

I have several different ST series — are they registered the same way?

In essence yes. The catalogue is wide and there are many variants of the same series, so confirm the exact part number if you need an engine cut-off or sensor inputs: those do change between models.

Can I change my device's protocol?

No. It comes from the factory; what you configure is which server and port it reports to.
