The Suntech ST4500 protocol

The protocol family of Suntech's ST4500 and ST8310 series, different from the one spoken by the same South Korean manufacturer's earlier series.

They are configured with commands. They are among the house's more recent part numbers, very common in Brazil and the Southern Cone.

Which port it comes in onOur server listens for the Suntech ST4500 protocol on port 6300. That is the port you set on the device, together with the server address. Point it somewhere else and the data still leaves, but the server cannot read it.
Careful with what other sites tell youHere is Suntech's trap: <strong>«it's a Suntech» does not tell you which protocol it speaks</strong>. Similarly named series belong to different families. Ask for the exact part number in writing before registering a batch, or half of them won't report.

No. The ST4500 and ST8310 are a different family from the same manufacturer's earlier series.

So how do I know which I have?

By the exact part number, not the brand: «it's a Suntech» does not tell you the protocol. With the IMEI the tool confirms it.

What happens if I pick the wrong family?

The device powers up, gets signal and doesn't report. It is the classic mistake when registering a mixed batch.
