DCT Syrus: one of the most widely installed brands in Latin America

Digital Communications Technologies, based in Miami, is the house behind the Syrus, one of the most widespread devices on the continent. Its current line runs from the Syrus 4G — a telematics gateway with an embedded SIM that cannot be removed and can work with several carriers — to the Syrus Asset Tracker, waterproof and with very long battery life for assets with no power.

Who you sell it to: professional fleets and projects where the customer already knows what he wants. It is a brand your corporate customer probably already knows, and that shortens the sale.

What it earns you: support and spares in this time zone instead of waiting three weeks for an email from Asia. At this price point, that is the argument that carries the difference.

What to watch: the 4G's embedded SIM changes your business model. Confirm which carriers it covers in your country and who bills the data before you quote; if you live on selling the SIM, that part of the income stops being yours.
