For the reseller

Signal: Russian-built on-board units, for fleet

A line of on-board navigation equipment of Russian origin, aimed at fleet and transport, supporting GLONASS and GPS. It comes from an environment of long distances and hard weather, and it shows in how the units are built.

Who you sell it to: operations with a presence in its home market. Outside that, you will rarely come across it.

What it earns you: continuity for an installed base you inherit, rather than new sales. And that is worth more than it looks: a customer who already pays for tracking and already understands what it is for is the easiest device replacement you will ever sell.

What to watch: confirm spares and documentation before committing to an expansion, and check the network generation of the older units before promising the customer anything.

If you inherit it already installed, start here: devices that stop reporting, which protocol your device speaks and what to check when a device goes quiet.
