For the reseller

Strela: not a tracker but a fuel sensor — and that is where the margin is

Strela is a Russian line of fuel level sensors, built by the Sapsan group in Chelyabinsk. It is fitted in the tank and measures fuel; on its own it locates nothing. It is made with different outputs — analogue, frequency and digital RS-232 and RS-485 — which is exactly what you will see in the catalogue part numbers.

Who you sell it to: alongside the tracker, never instead of it. To cargo, machinery, agriculture and construction fleets, where fuel is the big cost line.

What it earns you: the most profitable sale in the sector. Tracking the customer buys out of fear; fuel control he buys for money, and he can calculate it. Device plus sensor plus installation with calibration multiplies the ticket several times, and the customer who sees the saving on his bill does not leave.

What to watch: pick the right output before buying — digital and analogue do not connect the same way or to the same kind of device — and always budget the calibration. A badly calibrated sensor produces data that looks right and isn't.

What gets sold alongside this brand: fuel control, freight transport and what to charge and how often.
