The GT06 protocol

The most widespread protocol in low-cost GPS tracking. Concox created it for its GT06 device and today half the Chinese industry speaks it, including many devices with no Concox branding anywhere on them.

It talks over mobile data in binary, not text, so you cannot read it by eye in a log. The device is configured by SMS: you set the SIM's APN and the address of the server that will receive the data.

Which port it comes in onOur server listens for the GT06 protocol on port 6023. That is the port you set on the device, together with the server address. Point it somewhere else and the data still leaves, but the server cannot read it.
Careful with what other sites tell youMany GT06 devices are sold under names invented by the reseller. If the IMEI resolves to Quectel or SIMCom, it is almost certainly one of these: the TAC belongs to the modem, not to the device.

Build the configuration command

Type the APN of the SIM you will use and we build the commands exactly as they must be sent to the device by SMS.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know whether my GPS speaks GT06?

By the model, not the brand. Concox created it for its GT06 and today dozens of different manufacturers speak it — Sinotrack, Seeworld and many more — because it became the de facto standard of the budget range. If you have the IMEI, the IMEI tool will tell you.

I bought another brand and they tell me it is GT06 — is it a copy?

Not necessarily. A manufacturer using GT06 does not mean it copies Concox: the protocol is so widespread that many adopt it deliberately, precisely so any platform reads them with no extra work.

Can I change my device's protocol?

No. The protocol is the language it comes with from the factory; what you change is which server and port it reports to. That is why what matters when buying is knowing which protocol it speaks, not changing it afterwards.
