The Howen protocol

The protocol of Howen devices, a Chinese manufacturer specialising in <strong>vehicle video with on-board analysis</strong>: the camera itself detects driver drowsiness, distraction or following distance, without sending all the video out.

It is spoken by the Hero families — Hero-ME40, Hero-ME31, Hero-G05. Like any video device it consumes far more data than a tracker and needs its own plan.

Which port it comes in onOur server listens for the Howen protocol on port 6015. That is the port you set on the device, together with the server address. Point it somewhere else and the data still leaves, but the server cannot read it. In the platform this protocol is listed as huabao.
Careful with what other sites tell youBefore fitting, the customer <strong>must inform drivers in writing</strong>. Rolling out cameras without notice ends in a labour dispute, and you end up in the middle. And budget the storage separately.
