Howen: video with on-board analysis, for selling road safety

Chinese manufacturer specialising in vehicle video, with systems that analyse the image inside the vehicle itself: driver drowsiness, distraction, distance to the vehicle in front. Sells in more than a hundred countries.

Who you sell it to: fleets with a road safety plan, passenger transport, and companies whose insurer lowers the premium in exchange for driving control.

What it earns you: a high ticket and a sale that justifies itself with numbers — fewer accidents, lower premium, fewer vehicles off the road. That is easier to defend in front of a manager than plain tracking.

What to watch: installation is longer and dearer, and storage and mobile data are extra. Warn the customer that he must inform his drivers in writing: rolling out cameras without notice ends in a labour dispute, and you end up in the middle of it.
