The JT808 protocol

JT808 is the Chinese communication standard for commercial vehicles: no brand invented it, that country's transport regulator set it. That is why devices from very different manufacturers speak it, especially video and passenger transport equipment.

It sends position and vehicle status. Its sibling JT1078 is the video part, and many devices speak both at once: one for the dot on the map and the other for the picture.

Which port it comes in onOur server listens for the JT808 protocol on port 6015. That is the port you set on the device, together with the server address. Point it somewhere else and the data still leaves, but the server cannot read it.
Careful with what other sites tell youBeing a standard does not mean two devices behave the same: each manufacturer adds its own fields. Test the exact model before committing a fleet, even if another device «on the same JT808» already works for you.
