The TopFlyTech protocol

The protocol of TopFlyTech devices, a Chinese manufacturer specialising in <strong>assets with no engine</strong>: trailers, containers, generators and idle machinery. Battery-powered units that last months or years.

It is spoken by the TLW, TLD and T families — TLW2-12B, TLD1A, T8803, T8608. Since they do not connect to the vehicle there is no wiring: they are stuck or bolted on.

Which port it comes in onOur server listens for the TopFlyTech protocol on port 6047. That is the port you set on the device, together with the server address. Point it somewhere else and the data still leaves, but the server cannot read it.
Careful with what other sites tell youBattery life is not decided by the device, it is decided by <strong>how often it reports</strong>. The same unit that lasts years reporting once a day runs flat in weeks if you ask for a position every five minutes. Agree the rate before installing.

From months to years, and it is decided by how often it reports, not by the model. Reporting once a day it lasts a very long time; asking for a position every five minutes it lasts weeks.

Does it work for a trailer or a container?

That is exactly what it is for: assets with no engine and no power to draw from. There is nothing to wire.

Will it warn me if the asset leaves the yard?

Yes, by drawing a zone around the site and hanging an exit alert on it. The warning arrives by itself.
