For the reseller
This is the most common confusion in the catalogue and it will cost you time if you don't clear it up immediately. Three unrelated things: StarLink, the device line from ERM, an Israeli tracking and anti-theft manufacturer, which is what these part numbers refer to; Starlink, SpaceX's satellite internet, which is a connectivity service and not a tracking system; and StarLinkGPS, which is a different tracking platform.
Why it matters to a reseller: when a customer writes asking for "Starlink", ask before quoting. Hours get lost quoting the wrong thing.
What it earns you: if it is the ERM line, it is serious anti-theft, sold as a project with an insurer or finance company behind it, at a price well above an ordinary tracker.
What to watch: don't use the bare word in your advertising. It will pull in satellite-internet enquiries that are no use to you and will swamp your phone.
To put the anti-theft offer together: theft prevention and immobilising, vehicle rental and what to charge and how often.
Which protocol it speaks: StarLink devices reach the platform over the ERM StarLink protocol. Its page explains what it is and how it works.
